    In the story of Pentecost, isn’t it interesting that instead of the Holy Spirit making it possible for everyone in the crowd to understand the One Language in which the Gospel was being preached, S/He* instead made it possible for everyone to hear the Gospel in their own language? Quite the argument for ‘multi-culturalism’. (more )

    Isaac Watts (1674–1748) was a prolific hymn writer, one of whose undertakings was to adapt the entire book of Psalms (or at least virtually all of it) into verse form while injecting a New Testament perspective. The result was The Psalms of David, Imitated in the Language of the New Testament and Applied to the Christian State and Worship, published in 1719. (more )
